March 2008: Project Evaluation – WWF projects in Solomons and Papua New Guinea
ECF’s Nicky Thomson has been commissioned by WWF to evaluate two of their Melanesia community-based programmes.

March 2008: Laucala Island Landscape Works
ECF have been commissioned to undertake a review of a report on soil resources on Laucala Island and to prepare a Quarantine Management Plan to enable plants to be safely brought up to the island, so that risks to Taveuni’s Taro Beetle-free status can be minimised.

February 2008: FEA 132 kV Transmission Lines
ECF’s Dick Watling has been retained by the Asian Development Bank to prepare Environmental and Resettlement (social) Safeguard documentation for the proposed financial assistance of the ADB to FEA for nearly 200 km of proposed 132 kV transmission lines.

January 2008:  Nukudamu Copper Prospect
ECF have been commissioned to undertake a baseline study of the Nukudamu Copper prospect on Udu Point.

January 2008: Pacific Point Residential Subdivision and Resort – Construction Monitoring
ECF have completed the EIA for the Pacific Point development at Caudua Point, Nabukavesi and are currently engaged as the environmental monitoring and management consultants.

November 2007:  European Union Study on Energy Wood Crops
ECF’s Dick Watling was a member of a two man EU team undertaking a feasibility study of the growing of ‘energy wood’ to fuel FSC’s sugar mill cogeneration plants and other potential Independent Power Producers.

November 2007: Maui Bay Jetty EIA
Maui Bay Estate commissioned ECF to undertake and EIA of their proposed jetty and boat ramp.

October 2007:  National Forest Inventory – Environmental Values
ECF were commissioned by the Department of Forestry to coordinate the input of environmental values into the National Forest Inventory currently being undertaken.

August 2007:  Vuda Quarry EIA
ECF have been commissioned to undertake an EIA of a hard rock quarry at Vuda, Ba Province.

August 2007: Vunabaka Resort EIA
ECF have completed the EIA and the Construction Environmental Management Plan for the Vunabaka Resort on Malolo Island, Mamanuca Group. The resort comprises residential subdivision, a marina and reclamation.

March 2007: Bird Strike Hazard at Nadi and Nausori Airfields
ECF’s Dick Watling has been commissioned by Airports Fiji Ltd. to prepare a review report and training needs on the current bird strike hazard management at Nadi and Nausori Airfields.

May 2007:  EIA of Aquifer Bottled Water Bore and Plant
An EIA has commenced of a new bore and the water bottling plant for AQUIFER bottled water at their site in Yarawa, Serua.

April 2007:  Conservation Values Survey of Mago Island in the Lau Group, for its owner, Mr Mel Gibson.
